Almost two decades after releasing their first single, Daft Punk have finally reached the top of the British charts. The U.K.'s Official Charts Company says the French electronic duo's latest track, "Get Lucky," hit number one this week after selling more than 155,000 copies.
Daft Punk says they feel "lucky to have" a chart topper, while collaborator Nile Rodgers says he's "honored and completely blown away."
"Get Lucky," which also features vocals from Pharrell Williams, is the first release from the duo's highly anticipated album Random Access Memories, which is due out May 21st.
Meanwhile, "Get Lucky" is sitting at number 19 on Billboard's Hot 100 here in the U.S. But that only includes numbers from the first three days the track was available. It could continue to climb the tally once its first full week is taken into account.
