Jennifer Lopez is reportedly inching towards a deal to return to "American Idol." A source tells "People" the superstar is "very close" to signing a deal with Fox, and both parties are "very happy" and "want it to happen very much."
The source also knocked down recent reports that Lopez had been rejected by "Idol's" rival show "The Voice." Earlier this week it had been rumored that NBC has turned down the star when she approached them about both performing and becoming a coach.
Apparently, it was NBC who asked Lopez to perform on its finale earlier this year, and she was the one who turned them down due to "scheduling conflicts."
The source adds that Lopez wants to return to "Idol" so she can spend more time with her family and pursue acting projects now that her world tour is over.
