Childless Employees Pick Up Slack For Working Parents

Kids may be a lot of work, but apparently, so is not having kids.  Forty percent of non-parents believe they work harder than their colleagues with children.  According to a survey, many workers resent their coworkers who have kids because they feel they have to pick up their slack.  Of course, working parents have their own woes- more than 20% think their workload is unmanageable and half report feeling stressed “all the time.”  It seems many working parents are oblivious to their childless coworkers’ complaints- only a small 4% think their colleagues mind when they have to dip out of the office to tend to child-related matters, and almost 60% feel guilty about not spending enough time at home with their families.
